The Shoe Game
The shoe game is a great addition to a wedding reception. It gives the bride and groom a chance to indirectly tell their guests about their relationship. It usually gets a lot of laughs from the audience. The DJ typically asks questions like:
- Who made the first move?
- Who said I love your first?
- Who is the better driver?
- Who wears the pants in the relationship?
- Who is the better cook?
- Who goes to bed earlier?
- Who is more romantic?
By asking questions like these, all of the guests have the opportunity to take an inside look at the personal relationship between the newlyweds. Often times, some of the guests haven’t met the bride or groom yet. Since there’s virtually no time for the bride and groom to tell everyone about their relationship, the shoe game does it for them. And it’s entertaining!
Here’s how it works: two chairs are placed in the middle of the dance floor facing opposite directions. The bride and groom take their shoes off and share one of their shoes with eachother. The DJ will ask questions like those above, and if you think the answer to the question is yourself, then you’d put your shoe into the air.
Ultimately, there’s really no winner. Just fun and laughs.
