I DJ’d a corporate event last night for Burris Logistics. How did I get the booking? I sweetened the deal by offering to take some photos for them for free. I’m glad I did because I enjoyed the gig and it was not only easier than my typical gig but it was also different, which is good.
Since I mostly DJ weddings it’s nice to do something different every now and then. This corporate event was held in the Signature 2 room at Rosen Centre Hotel located at 9840 International Dr, Orlando, FL 32819. The hotel is beautiful! Weddings are great because they typically attract family together that would otherwise never get together to dance and party. For that reason, weddings can be tough to play music for because there’s usually people there of all ages and some times from different cultures. However, a good DJ can keep the party going no matter the circumstances.

I got to DJ a totally different type of event. It was held at Macy’s at the Florida Mall in Orlando. I got the booking from Gigmasters.com. I actually get a good amount of gigs from that site and you can too by using my referral link. It was a pretty easy gig. Much less stressful than usual. I just showed up and played music. The best part was I got to play some songs that I really wanted to play, and even threw in some great songs appropriate to the sale, like Madonna’s “Material Girl.” Continue reading
Finally! I finally got to DJ a wedding at the Orlando Science Center. I’ve been wanting to take my family there for a while too. So I checked out the venue before the wedding and signed up for a family membership at the Orlando Science Center.
This wedding is special for me because I got the gig from a friend who referred me. It’s such an honor because my friend who referred me is a fellow DJ who knows lots of other DJs, including others attending the wedding, such as the groom.
The wedding went great! The ceremony was held across the street on the lake. I wish I would have taken photos of it, but at least I got some good ones of the reception. Continue reading
Teto celebrated her 60th birthday at the DoubleTree in Orlando near the airport. They hired me as her birthday party DJ and we had the party in the Waterford Ballroom. Avery & Paige celebrated their 13th birthday party at Figland in Orlando near UCF and had me DJ their party. The special occasion also doubled as a Halloween party so nearly everyone dressed up, including myself. Oddly enough, I DJ’d another girl’s birthday party earlier that day and her name was also Avery. What are the odds of that?

VF Outlet invited me to DJ their 3rd annual Fashion Night Out. I DJ’d at the International Drive location in Orlando. It’s probably about the 6th time they’ve hired me for one of their corporate events, but this is the first time I took pictures so that I could blog about it. Unfortunately, several of their models didn’t show up so I didn’t get as many photos as I could have otherwise.
The event raised money to help fight type-1 juvenile diabetes. The first 25 shoppers got a bag to fill up with clothes and get a 30% off discount. I also asked trivia questions throughout the day and gave out prizes to anyone who answered the questions correctly. The prizes were 15% coupons, $10 gift cards, and light sticks. Continue reading
