Are you looking for a great wedding venue in Orlando? In this post we’ll look at 3 of them. They’re all different in their own way. I purposely chose 3 different types of venues to showcase.
This is by no means a comprehensive list. There is a surprisingly long list of wedding venues in Orlando. In fact, I still haven’t even been to them all yet. It’s actually rare I visit the same venue twice, and I’ve worked over 100 weddings so far.
1. Orlando Science Center
The Orlando Science Center is a great place to have a wedding, but it’s not for everyone. If you’re really into dinosaurs, and/or want to have a dinosaur theme, this is very likely the best place for you to get married in Orlando. You can have your wedding reception in the Dino Digs room, as shown in the photos.
Check out the dinosaurs I lit up with uplights.
They don’t always have the dinosaurs lit up like in the photo below, but apparently you can request it for weddings.
We had a great time at the Orlando Science Center. I really liked the way the columns looked after I added uplighting to them.
One caveat: if you’re going to have your wedding at the Orlando Science Center then I highly recommend having your DJ load his equipment and leave it upstairs before he’s allowed to set up, especially if there isn’t much time to set up. I was told the DJ can have the equipment by the loading dock elevator, but can’t put anything on the floor until 4 (I think).
In this case, they had the ceremony across the street, and I didn’t have time to fully set up for the reception in the Dino Digs room. I couldn’t set up for the ceremony early either because there was no one there to watch my equipment and ensure no one would take it. I had to quickly move from the ceremony site to the cocktail hour, because the area where the cocktail hour was held was still open to the public when the ceremony started. The timing of everything made it tough and intense setting up, but I was told most people don’t have their ceremony across the street so it shouldn’t be a problem most of the time, especially if the DJ has everything upstairs early like I recommended.
Feel free to check out the rest of the photos from this wedding at the Orlando Science Center.
2. Paradise Cove
Paradise Cove is a unique wedding venue in Orlando. It doesn’t feel like you’re in Orlando anymore when you’re there. It really does feel like you’re in paradise, especially with its own “beach sand.” It doesn’t even feel like a local beach either, like Daytona Beach or Cocoa Beach. It feels more like you’re on a remote island. If you’re set on having your wedding in Orlando, but want something with a beach-like feel, this is it!
Looking for something unique for your wedding? The bride arrived at the ceremony in a speedboat! Paradise Cove offers it as an extra, which makes for an even more unique experience.
You can see the ceremony site below.
Wedding receptions are usually held in this covered area in the picture below. See more photos from this wedding here.
The only thing I don’t like about this venue is the location of the DJ booth area. The railing blocks the view of the DJ booth. It’s not a huge deal, but it could be detrimental if the DJ has a cool looking DJ booth, like the one that comes with my Gold package.
Below is the walkway from the left side of the ceremony site.
Standing close to where I was when I took the photo above, you can see the view below by looking to the right.
And in the photo below you can see where I was standing when I took the two photos above.
Here’s a photo from a different wedding at Paradise Cove. See more photos from that wedding here.
3. Reunion Resort
I had to pick a place with a somewhat normal banquet hall room. So here it is! Though this room looks like many other hotel banquet rooms, the lobby looks fantastic! Sorry, I didn’t get any photos of the lobby. Reunion Resort is located near Disney, not far off of I-4.
The only thing I didn’t like about Reunion Resort is the longest wall didn’t have many electrical outlets. So if a DJ has wired uplighting they may not be able to do a good job without a lot of extension cords.
