Are you interested in learning a great wedding idea? If so, here’s a cool way your wedding DJ (hopefully me) can add some extra flavor to your wedding. With only spending a few minutes during your wedding reception, one of the couples at your wedding will get their own special moment. Everyone else will likely get some wisdom too, and maybe even some laughs! It’s called the longest married dance. And here’s how it works:
The Longest Married Dance
Your wedding DJ will call all married couples to the dance floor to participate in the longest married dance. He’ll then explain to them that he’ll be calling out lengths of time, such as 1 year, 2 years, etc. When he does, the couples that have been married less time than that will then sit down. The last married couple still dancing at the end wins! The DJ will then ask the longest married couple to give the newlyweds some advice they’ve learned through their many years of marriage.
The longest married dance can be a great touch because it gives the longest married couple a moment in the spotlight. It’s a great way to celebrate their successful marriage and hopefully pass on some of their advice to help the newlyweds have a long successful marriage too. It may even be the only time you’re able to get them two on the dance floor, which can be very meaningful to both them and you. Especially considering the couple who has been married the longest at your wedding is probably an older family member. At the same time it provides a great photo and/or video opportunity that you wouldn’t otherwise have.
