The Shoe Game
The shoe game is a great addition to a wedding reception. It gives the bride and groom a chance to indirectly tell their guests about their relationship. It usually gets a lot of laughs from the audience. The DJ typically asks questions like: Continue reading
WMC Breaks Mix 2018 | Mixed By DJ Remy K
On rare occasions I like to post about things other than the typical events I normally DJ. This is one of those occasions. I was down in Miami for Miami Music Week, formerly known as Winter Music Conference (WMC), in March and rented a condo in South Beach. I recorded this mix there.
I love Miami, and I love South Beach, especially during Miami Music Week. Though I still call it WMC, and may continue to do so because it just feels right. If you have never been, let me tell you it’s definitely something special. With that being said, it’s definitely not for everybody.
First of all, you really should love electronic dance music (EDM) to get the most out of WMC. I fell in love with EDM in the late 90s. When I moved to Florida in the 2,000s I got introduced to Florida breaks. It’s its own genre that started in Florida, largely here in Central Florida.
Christmas Party at Habaneros in Winter Park, Florida
I had the unique experience of DJing a Christmas party at Habaneros located at 494 N Semoran Blvd, Winter Park, FL 32792. The party went great and people danced until the end.
They had an excellent Christmas hat contest but I didn’t get any photos of the actual contest because I was the judge. Needless to say, nearly everyone who participated in the Christmas hat contest tried hard to show off their hats and convince me theirs was the best one. Obviously there was a very generous prize for whoever won. Continue reading
Christmas Party at Lake Nona Golf & Country Club in Orlando, Florida
I was lucky enough to be hired for AVCON Inc.’s Christmas party at Lake Nona Golf & Country Club on December 2, 2017. They’re engineers with a cool tagline in their email signature. It says “Transforming Today’s Ideas into Tomorrow’s Reality.” I believe it too, because I heard one of them say how much the projects they worked on in 2017 are worth, and it’s was a huge number!
The party went great! The food was incredible, the staff were friendly, and people danced until the end and even asked for an encore of one last song. Of course, I did it. I really enjoy what I do so it’s fun to me. I just played another song as I began breaking down my equipment so it didn’t even hold me back.
The venue, Lake Nona Golf & Country Club, is beautifiul. You’ll see what I mean in the photos below. Continue reading
